I picked up this game on mothers day and have to say i wasn't very confident in buying this game. I saw lots of reviews before buying it and man people all said the same thing 'Rubbish Graphics'. Now i don't buy games for graphics so this wasn't a problem for me. I buy games based on if their fun or not and i can tell you this game is really fun. Lets get the bad out of the way. It takes too long to get into a game. I suspect it has something to do with the game being new. I read that THQ weren't expecting that amount of people to buy this game so their servers were small. They are trying to expand there serves so that's good. Another bad is that sometimes my PS3 freeze's and i have to turn it off then back on again. A patch is on the way says THQ so thats good as well.
Right, lets start with the good. I love the fact that they have started this thing called battle point witch you can buy all your kill streaks from and even buy vehicles like tanks and choppers.
With my copy of Homefront i got a downloadable shotgun. This shotgun isn't really good for long distance but if your on a smaller map than its fantastic. It's a one shot kill if you get a headshot or two shot from the waist down. There are three main game types in this game:
Ground Control -
Each time fights to control a line of objective points. Earn score as long as your team holds the objectives. When one team reaches the score limit, they win that round and the objectives move to a new area on the map. Win two rounds to win the game.
Team Deathmatch -
The objective here is simple: hunt down and destroy the enemy by any means necessary. Claim victory by being the first team to reach the points limit before time expires or the highest scoring team when time expires.
Battle Commander -
Choose to play battle commander with either ground control or team deathmatch. Each team is assigned an ai-controlled commander that will set up special missions and place bounties on players during a multiplayer match.
To sum up, i think this game is really good so if you dont have it i recommend you at least rent it but it's worth buying. I think its fun and straight to the point in terms of First person shooters. I really like the guns and the graphics might be a little dull at sometimes but that wont put you off the gameplay at all. they said there fixing the servers and the freezing issues so we just have to wait and see so i would give this game a soild 9 out of 10. If it wasn't for the dull bit or the freezing part this would be a 10 out of 10. Go out and buy it :)
